Dentistry
Well, you might conclude that a veterinary clinic that calls itself Powell Blvd Veterinary Clinic and Dental Center must provide dental care services for pets. AND WE DO.
Our facility is one of the most complete in Southeast Portland. We are members of the American Veterinary Dental Society and we continually take additional training in this field. Our dental equipment is complete and modern, including a dental x-ray unit (practicing without one of these is not providing good care), air-driven low temperature de-scalars, and air-driven high and low-speed dental drills. If you notice bad breath or red/inflamed gums on your pet then it is time to see us.
Surgery
Our facility provides all routine surgeries such and spaying and neutering as well as tumor/lump removal, eyelid surgery, abdominal surgery and bone/fracture repair. We follow all AAHA guidelines both with our facility, equipment and technique. If your pet needs any surgical service visit with one of our veterinarians.
Check-Ups
Check-ups and examinations are the backbone of good medicine. Our professors taught us that prior to treating any problem you must first perform a thorough physical examination. For this reason we avoid "telephone diagnosis" and encourage a visit so we can recommend the best option for your pet.
Preventative Medicine
Prevention of accident and illness is obviously the best way to live. This is true for both people and pets. We encourage a proper diet, regular exercise and supplements when appropriate. Vaccination against disease is also very important, but over vaccination is to be avoided. We will discuss your pets lifestyle in choosing the best protocol for your pet.
Laboratory
Our laboratory facilities include equipment and trained personnel to perform blood testing, cell counts, STAT chemistry panels, fecal analysis for parasites and bacterial overgrowth, cellular cytology, Feline Leukemia/ Feline Aids testing and a host of other evaluations. In addition, we utilize the services of America's largest veterinary reference lab to run special tests and large panel testing.
Pharmacy
Our Pharmacy is fully stocked and ready to fill your Veterinarian's prescription for our pet's benefit. Additionally we have a multitude of over-the-counter health aids that you might be interested in providing for your pet.
Glucosamine/Creatine chews and powder in very economical formulations with the highest potency standards. Just ask for Dasuquin or Phycox chews for dogs and Cosequin powder for cats by name for the best in natural arthritis control.
Ear Wash solution - Just ask for Epi-Otic. Great for all those swimming dogs that need to prevent yeast infections.
